The Victorian Government is improving the vocational education and training (VET) system to make it easier for you to get new skills, or upgrade your existing skills, to help you get the job you want.

The Government now guarantees all eligible Victorians a government subsidised place in a vocational education training course of your choice through the Victorian Training Guarantee.

Course costs if you are eligible under the Victorian Training Guarantee:

FULL COST OF CERTIFICATE II, III & IV Level Courses $0.00

FULL COURSE COST DIPLOMA Level Courses $0.00

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR GOVERNMENT FUNDED PLACE IN 2012

In 2012 you are eligible for a government subsidised training place if you:

Meet ONE of the following citizen/residency status:

-Australian citizen

-Australian Permanent Resident (holder of a permanent visa)

-holder of a Special Category Visa (sub-class 444, New Zealand citizen)

-East Timorese asylum seeker, or

-holder of a Temporary Protection Visa.

And are ANY of the following:

-an applicant seeking a higher qualification than the higest qualification already held is eligible for the Victorian Training Guarantee;

-a young person under 20 years;

-an applicant seeking a Foundation skills course;

-an applicant who is an Apprentice.
